1. I am having trouble with your web site.  What are my other ordering options?
We recently launched a new website and are in the middle of fixing some glitches.  If you are having problems with our web site you can email your order to orders@bridgewaterchocolate.com.  Include the Bill to address, Ship to address, items, and notecard and phone number.  We will call you for the credit card number since email is not a secure form of communication.  You can also place orders over the phone through out toll free phone number 1-800-888-8742.  

2. When will my order ship out?

All orders will ship out in 1 to 5 business days depending on inventory at our factory. Any 2nd Day delivery order placed on Thursday or any order placed on Friday, Saturday or Sunday will ship the following Monday.

3. What if I need my order on a specific date?
In order to guarantee the date, please choose 2nd day or next delivery as the shipping method. For Saturday deliveries an extra fee will apply. Please call us at 1-800-888-8742 to arrange a Saturday delivery.

4. What is the shelf life on the chocolate?
Bridgewater Chocolate is a fresh product with no added preservatives. Please consume within 3 weeks from date of purcahse or receiving and within one week for the Truffles. The truffles only last 7 days and have to be kept refrigerated. However, If you do not intend to have or use the chocolate within three weeks of purchasing or receiving, then you can place the chocolate in a sealed bag and put in the freezer. This will help extend the shelf life (up to 3 months). Before serving the chocolate, take it out of the freezer and let it return to room temperature. However, our best recommendation is to wait to receive the chocolate closer to your intended need by date.

5. Allergy Concerns regarding Nuts, Gluten and Milk.
Nut allergy concerns: We work with nuts so there could be traces in any of our products.

Milk allergy concerns: There is no milk ingredient in our solid dark chocolate, however we do work with milk so there could be traces in any chocolate product we make.

Gluten (wheat) allergy concerns: We do not have any actual gluten in our chocolate, however we do work with cookies which contain the ingredient so there could be traces in any of our products.

6. Do you offer sugar free chocolate?
We currently offer a no sugar added dark chocolate truffle and dark chocolate bar. Just like all of our truffles, the sugar free truffles must also be kept refrigerated.

7. What is the sugar substitute in your sugar free chocolate?
The sugar substitute is Malitol.

8. Is your chocolate kosher?
No. Our chocolate is not kosher certified.

9. What delivery carrier do you use for shipments?
We use UPS.

10. How are the shipping charges determined?

Shipping charges are dependent on the zip code and climate of the order destination as well as the total spent per an order shipped.

11. If I want to order chocolate for Christmas, Valentine's, Easter or any other Holiday when is the best time I should place my order and have it shipped?

You can place your order at any time and select a future shipping date on the calendar at check out. If you intend to give the chocolate as a gift and are shipping to yourself, then we reccomend you ship the chocolate to arrive at least 1-2 weeks before the holiday. This will ensure the best freshness and qulity of the chocolate when you intend to give just before or on the holiday.

12. Do I have to sign for the package at the time of delivery?

We do not require a signature for our shipments. If the recipient is not home, then UPS will leave the package only if they feel it is a safe location. Leaving the package is up to UPS discretion and Bridgewater Chocolate has no control over this.

13. I see that my order was shipped, but the intended recipient states they did not receive the chocolate. What happens now?

We will contact UPS and they will open an investigation into the package. Once they determine the package has been lost or delivered incorrectly we will resend the shipment. This may take up to 8 business days.

14. I see that my order was shipped, but it was delivered back to you because of an incorrect address or other. What happens now?

Once the package comes back to us, we can not sell or reship that package due to freshness and quality control. If you would like for us to reship the chocolate then we can do that for 50% of the cost of the chocolate plus shipping.

15. Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we do ship outside of the United States. We ship with UPS Worldwide Express and the shipping rates begin at $100 depending on the address.

16. How do I know if my order has been shipped?

Once an order is shipped, you will receive an email notification. You may also log into your account and view the assigned tracking # by going to the tab “my account” and then click on “view the orders I have made”. At this page you may select the order and then view the tracking #.

17. Do you ship to P.O. Boxes?

No. UPS does not deliver to P.O. Boxes; therefore we will need a physical street address.

18. Do I receive a discount if I spend a certain amount or order large quantities?

Discounts are dependent on the order total. Discounts start on orders with totals more than $750. Please call 1-800-888-8742 for more details.

19. Will there be tax on my order?

Sales tax will only be added to shipments that are shipping within the state of Connecticut.

20. What are your retail hours?

In our Brookfield Factory Store the hours are Monday thru Thursday 9am – 4pm, Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday 10am-4pm, closed on Sunday. The Factory Extension store (across from Costco) hours are Monday - Wednesday 10am - 7pm, Thursday & Friday 10am - 8pm, Saturday 10am - 6pm and Sunday 11am - 5pm. In our West Hartford Retail Store the hours are Monday - Wednesday 10am – 7pm, Thursday - Saturday: 10am - 8pm, Sunday: 12pm - 6pm.

Please call for Special Holiday Hours for all stores during the holiday seasons.

21. Do you offer wedding or party favors?

23. What credit cards do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards; Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

24. Do you gift-wrap?
We can gift wrap our chocolate boxes with our beautiful gold ribbon for an additional $3.00.

25. Do you offer tours of the factory?
We no longer offer tours due to the liability involved with non-employees entering our factory.
