I am having trouble with your website. What are my other ordering options?
If you are having problems with our website you can email your order to email@example.com. Please include the billing address, shipping address, items being ordered, notecard message and phone number so we may obtain your credit card number. You can also call 1-800-888-8742 to speak to a customer service representative.
When will my order ship out?
All orders will ship out in 1 to 5 business days depending on inventory at our factory. Any 2nd Day delivery order placed on Thursday or any order placed on Friday, Saturday or Sunday will ship the following Monday.
What if I need my order on a specific date?
In order to guarantee the date, please choose 2nd day or next delivery as the shipping method. For Saturday deliveries an extra fee will apply. Please call us at 1-800-888-8742 to arrange a Saturday delivery.
What is the shelf life on the chocolate?
Bridgewater Chocolate is a fresh product with no added preservatives. Please consume within 3 weeks from date of purchase or receiving and within one week for the Truffles. The truffles only last 7 days and have to be kept refrigerated. However, if you do not intend to have or use the chocolate within three weeks of purchasing or receiving, then you can place the chocolate in a sealed bag and put in the freezer. This will help extend the shelf life (up to 3 months). Before serving the chocolate, take it out of the freezer and let it return to room temperature. However, our best recommendation is to wait to receive the chocolate closer to your intended need by date.
Allergy Concerns regarding Nuts, Gluten and Milk. Our chocolate is not kosher certified.
Nut allergy concerns: We work with nuts so there could be traces in any of our products.
Milk allergy concerns: There is no milk ingredient in our solid dark chocolate, however we do work with milk so there could be traces in any chocolate product we make.
Gluten (wheat) allergy concerns: Our cookies and pretzels contain gluten. We do not have any actual gluten in our chocolate, but there could be traces in any of our products due to our production of cookies and pretzels.
Do you offer sugar free chocolate?
We currently offer a no sugar added dark chocolate truffle, dark chocolate bar, dark chocolate bar with almonds, solid milk bar and solid milk with almonds. Just like all of our truffles, the sugar free truffles must also be kept refrigerated and have a shorter shelf life. The sugar substitute is Maltitol.
What are the details for free shipping? What about flat rate shipping?
We are happy to offer free ground shipping on any individual shipment where the product value is $100 or more and free 2 Day shipping where the product value is $125 or more. For orders with multiple shipments to different addresses, shipping is calculated based on each individual shipment and not the value of all of the orders together. Free shipping is auto-calculated at check-out so there is no need for promotional codes. Simply build your order and select the best shipping option for you.
For orders that don't meet the order minimums for free shipping, we offer easy flat rate shipping. For each shipping address in your order, enjoy a $10 ground flat rate, $20 2 Day flat rate and $40 Overnight flat rate. These rates are auto-calcuated at check-out.
When will my order ship? Is the delivery date guaranteed?
Orders will ship within (1) business day of being placed (Monday -Thursday). 2 Day delivery does not include weekends.
UPS currently only guarantees Next Day Air shipments. All other ship methods (Ground and 2nd Day) do not have delivery date guarantees. 2 Day Delivery does not include the weekends.
What delivery carrier do you use for shipments?
We use UPS exclusively. Please note, UPS does not deliver to P.O. boxes and therefore we do not ship to P.O. boxes.
How are the shipping charges determined?
We now have flat rate and free shipping offers. As a way to make shipping an easier option for our customers, we now cover a portion of the actual cost of each shipment expense from UPS.
If I want to order chocolate for Christmas, Valentine's, Easter or any other holiday when is the best time I should place my order and have it shipped?
You can place your order at any time and select a future shipping date on the calendar at check out. If you intend to give the chocolate as a gift and are shipping to yourself, then we recommend you ship the chocolate to arrive at least 1-2 weeks before the holiday. This will ensure the best freshness and quality of the chocolate when you intend to give just before or on the holiday.
Do I have to sign for the package at the time of delivery?
We do not require a signature for our shipments. If the recipient is not home, then UPS will leave the package only if they feel it is a safe and secure location. Leaving the package is up to UPS discretion and Bridgewater Chocolate has no control over this.
I see that my order was shipped, but the intended recipient states they did not receive the chocolate. What happens now?
We will contact UPS and they will open an investigation into the package. Once they determine the package has been lost or delivered incorrectly we will resend the shipment. This may take up to 8 business days.
I see that my order was shipped, but it was delivered back to you because of an incorrect address or other. What happens now?
Once the package comes back to us, we can not sell or reship that package due to freshness and quality control. If you would like for us to reship the chocolate then we can do that for 50% of the cost of the chocolate plus shipping.
Do you ship internationally? Do you ship to P.O. boxes?
Yes, we do ship outside of the United States. We ship with UPS Worldwide Express and the shipping rates begin at $100 depending on the address.
No, we do not ship to P.O. boxes as UPS is our exclusive carrier.
How do I know if my order has been shipped?
Once an order is shipped, you will receive an email notification. You may also log into your account and view the assigned tracking number by going to the tab “My Account” and "Order History". At this page you may select the order and then view the tracking number with a direct link to the UPS website for detailed information.

Do I receive a discount if I spend a certain amount or order large quantities?
We do not offer discounts for standard retail orders. Please see our Corporate Gifts page for information on discounts for larger gift orders.
Will there be tax on my order?
Sales tax will only be added to shipments that are shipping within the state of Connecticut and New York.

We no longer offer tours due to the liability involved with non-employees entering our factory.
